Assisting Families, Seniors and Others in Need

Our teams work with neighbouring communities to understand their priorities and support grassroots efforts. Some of our recent initiatives included:  

• From Western Canada to our International operations, employees donate much needed hampers and gifts to families, seniors and food banks every year. For example, through our Adopt-a-Family and Senior programs, we sponsored 22 families, 60 seniors, 19 youth, and eight veteran families in 2025, helping make Christmas wishes come true. Our Calgary Adopt-a-Family program started more than two decades ago. We also donated 60 wellness/arrival kits to the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter.
• In 2025, we collected over 300 stuffed animals for our 29th annual Teddy Bear Challenge supporting the Salvation Army’s Toy Angel campaign. The stuffed animals are donated by employees every year to children and families in need.
• Canadian Natural is one of the largest donors from the oil and natural gas sector in Alberta and Northwest Territories under the Canadian Blood Services ‘Partners for Life’ program. We have been part of this program since 2005. In 2025, employees donated 985 units of blood, including donors from Calgary, oil sands operations and other field locations. These donations helped save the lives of over 3,000 people and earned Canadian Natural recognition as one of the top contributing companies.
