Environmental protection is a fundamental value of Canadian Natural.
We manage all of our operations in a way that identifies, minimizes and mitigates harm to the environment during project planning, exploration, drilling, construction, operations and decommissioning. We recognize that every employee and contractor has a vital role to play in identifying, minimizing and mitigating environmental impacts from our operations.
Canadian Natural works co-operatively and effectively with communities, government agencies and interested stakeholders to reduce potential impacts of our operations and to ensure that all of our operations meet or exceed all industry guidelines, government regulations and company policies. Co-operation leads to a better, more sustainable energy industry.
Our environmental management plan and operating guidelines provide the vision and strategy to manage Canadian Natural's environmental risks and liabilities, and the tools to implement necessary practices and procedures to meet our performance goals.
The management plan is based on the principles found in the
Corporate Statement on Environmental Protection integral to the way in which Canadian Natural conducts its business.
