A reflection of our mission statement
Not only do our significant business activities contribute to the economics and quality of life in areas where we do business, so do our community investments.
Canadian Natural's people live by our mission statement that encourages people to work together. In this spirit, we are proud to work with our communities in Western Canada, the UK and West Africa to provide financial and volunteer support for hundreds of projects that meet their vision for the future. Our focus is in education, wellness, arts, sports and social programs.
In 2002, we launched our Building Futures Training and Education Program to contribute to the communities where we do business. The program involves four main components:
- Providing scholarships for training and education in the trades and technical areas of the oil and natural gas industry;
- Encouraging young people to stay in school and promoting the variety of options related to trades and technical training;
- Supporting industry-community partnerships related to regional Petroleum Employment Training (PET) initiatives and programs such as Careers: The Next Generation, and Inside Education; and
- Operating a dedicated Canadian Natural training facility near Ardmore, Alberta.
